The Army Rugby Team was founded in 1961 and for over 40 years has been a leader in USA Collegiate Rugby.   The Army Ruggers are West Point’s most winning team.

In 1980 the USA Rugby Collegiate Championship playoff system was established.  Since then, the Army Rugby team has qualified for every Sweet 16 Tournament and also reached more then 10 Final Fours.  The Army Rugby team has finished second in the nation 3 times.

All Cadet classes play and the team currently has over 90 members drawn from the United States Corps of Cadets fielding four rugby sides.

The Division-1 A and B sides compete in the newly formed Collegiate Premier League during the spring season, while the Division-2 C and D sides challenge every fall for the title in the New England and Metropolitan New York Rugby Football Union.

Opening Scrimmage v. NYAC

West Point, NY - The West Point Men's Rugby Team will open up their spring season this Saturday 11 February when they play host to the New York Athletic Club. The match will be in a scrimmage format giving both teams plenty of time to test some combinations and get the younger players some match time before they begin league play in a few weeks. The scrimmage is going to be held in the Foley Indoor Athletic Complex  at West Point, for safety reasons due to the size of the indoor space the match is unfortunately going to be closed to outside spectators. Both teams are very excited to get their seasons underway after some tough off season training the last few months.
